The Truck Mate™ auxiliary generator system offers an economical solution to semi-truck “no-idle” laws and the rising costs of diesel fuel. The average semi-truck rig burns 1.8 gallons an hour at idle. The Truck Mate™ generator system burns only .25 gallons an hour. The fuel savings are immediate and significant. The Truck Mate™ generator system operates independently from the semi-truck’s engine and only connects to the rig’s fuel tanks.

A major advantage of the Truck Mate™ system is the direct drive generator, with no belts to wear and maintain. The unit has a very small footprint (24”L x 22W” x 24”H) and can be frame-mounted.

Separate electric air conditioning and heating units allows Truck Mate™ to meet semi-truck AC and heating needs exactly. Truck Mate™ offers anything from a roof mount heat air system to bunk style (whole or split) or Truck Mate™ can tie into existing  semi-truck air conditioning and heating systems.

More truck stops are offering shore power as a solution to anti-idling regulations. The Truck Mate™ unit can be unplugged and the shore power can power the semi-truck air conditioning and heat system without putting unnecessary hours on the semi-truck’s generator. At 5.5kw, the Truck Mate™ generator system offers plenty of power for all semi-truck power needs.

The Truck Mate™ generator system is powered by a Yanmar diesel engine, one of the most reliable in the industry. Throughout the United States, Yanmar has an extensive parts and service network, so service for the Truck Mate™ unit is readily available.

The Yanmar engine is a single cylinder air-cooled diesel model L100V6EJ1C1EA that already meets the Tier 2 EPA emission requirements. The Yanmar L-series is a proven engine that enables Truck Mate™ to build a generator system without radiators, hoses and belts to maintain.

Another major advantage is the Truck Mate™ generator system’s weight – only 325 lbs. The air-cooled engine allowed Truck Mate™ to fabricate the housing for the generator out of powder coated steel for durability. Yet, at only 325lbs., it is one of the lightest generator packages in the industry.

The Truck Mate™ generator system features “one side service” for the fuel filters and oil changes. The enclosure is mounted on a tray that slides out for easy access to the back of generator if repairs are needed. The Truck Mate™ Generator comes with a two year or two thousand hour bumper to bumper warranty.

In addition to the established Yanmar parts and service network, Truck Mate™ is currently setting up major truck repair centers in the U.S. for parts and service support for the Truck Mate™ generator system.
